It was great meeting Isaiah and talking about his work. After looking around in his team’s gallery I was impressed after I saw that “sleeping snowman”. The snowman’s body had similar characteristics to the body of a person. Opposed to the traditional three ball shaped snowman.
I asked Isaiah what inspired him and his team for their work. He explained to me that they had an interest in the concept of time and how things change or nearly stay the exact same way. I was impressed after he explained their technique for the snowman piece and the face sculptor. They scanned Isaiah’s body and sent the images to a 3D printer that we have on campus. The 3D printer then cuts the blocks of foam that they purchased for their piece.
